Made with Love!

Last night I finished a quilt I have been working on for a little while. It's called "Made with Love!" I used fat quarters of Amy Butler's Love fabric to make big 16 inch square blocks. I am obsessed with Amy Butler's beautiful fabric, especially the Love range. I machine pieced the quilt top and had it quilted by Anita from Hillside Quilting. The quilting pattern is rambling roses over the entire quilt. It fits perfectly!

This quilt is a present for my mum for Christmas. This is my way of showing her how much I love and appreciate her. This year especially, she has been an amazing support to me. Having my own baby has made me really look at her in a different way. I think I now understand the unconditional love she has for me and I appreciate the sacrifices she has made for me along the way. I hope she likes it!

Parcel Day!

Ordering fabric is a fun part of the creative process! There are so many gorgeous fabrics out there that it gets very hard to limit myself to just a few. Most of the time I don't even have a project in mind, I just see the fabric and then think of all the things I can make.

Last week I ordered some beautiful fabric from Hawthorne Threads and it finally arrived. I think the waiting is the worst! Once I've ordered it, I want it straight away. I got some 2D Zoo which is so cute for anything baby and some from the Meadowsweet range by Sandi Hendeson which I'm planning to turn into another quilt for my little girl. I snuck in a Christmas fabric from the Gliztmas range which is beautiful. I love Christmas and am quietly addicted to Christmas fabric! I am planning to make some Christmas stockings for the family and a Santa Sack for my baby girl.

Day 1

Hello and welcome to my blog! This is my first ever attempt at 'blogging', but after looking at so many wonderful blogs by such amazingly creative people I thought I'd give it a go. I recently became a mum for the first time and after we got over some initial sleep deprived months I found myself looking for something to do. I've always loved anything crafty so I decided to pull out a few of my unfinished projects.

It had been a long time since I had done any sewing so I went to the web to seek out the turorials I needed to guide me. Since that day I have been obsessed! I am in love with fabric! Amy Butler, Sandi Henderson, Anna Maria Horner, and tonnes more! Then there is finding something to do with this amazing fabric... and so the journey begins...
